RocketClass vs Bookwhen
Bookwhen charges by how many bookings you take. We do not.
Bookwhen: A general-purpose booking system, used for everything from yoga to workshops.
Bookwhen is a well-built, honestly priced general booking tool, and it publishes its rates, which is more than most. The catch for a growing club is that the plan is metered: a good term pushes you up a tier.
How RocketClass and Bookwhen compare
| RocketClass | Bookwhen | |
|---|---|---|
| Bookings a month | Unlimited on every plan | Capped by tier: 300, 800, 1,800, then 4,000 |
| Cut of your bookings | None. We take 0% | None. Bookwhen takes 0% too |
| Free plan | No. 14-day trial, then pick a plan | Yes, but free events only, so not for a club that charges |
| Built for kids' clubs | Yes. Terms, camps, trials, siblings | General-purpose, not child-specific |
| Registers, medical notes, consent | Built in | Attendance from the Standard tier up |
| Where the money lands | Your own Stripe account, directly | Your own Stripe or PayPal, directly |
| One-off events and workshops | Not what we are shaped for | Its core strength, for any kind of event |
Bookwhen’s plans
- Free50 bookings a month, free events only, so no use if you charge
- Lite300 bookings a month, 2 team members, 1 booking page
- Standard800 bookings a month, 5 team members, 3 booking pages
- Plus1,800 bookings a month, 10 team members, 6 booking pages
- Gold4,000 bookings a month
- EnterpriseBespoke, on request
Bookwhen shows its prices in the visitor's own currency, so we link to their page rather than print a figure that would be wrong for some readers. The ladder is the part that matters here: what you pay steps up as you take more bookings. Ours does not.
Where these figures come from
- Bookwhen publishes paid tiers each with a monthly booking cap (300, 800, 1,800 and 4,000), an Enterprise tier on request, and a free plan limited to “Free events only”. Source
- On payments, Bookwhen states: “We don't take a cut of your payments.” Source
- Our own prices are on our pricing page, and they are the same prices you pay.

When to choose Bookwhen instead
If you run mixed one-off events and workshops rather than children's classes, and your booking volume stays inside a tier, Bookwhen is a sound choice. If you run terms for children and you intend to grow, a cap on bookings is a strange thing to pay for.
Questions people actually ask
Is Bookwhen cheaper?
At low volume its entry tier is usually cheaper than ours, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What changes as you grow is that its price steps up with your booking count, through 300, 800, 1,800 and 4,000 a month, while ours does not move.
What does Bookwhen do better?
It is more flexible for one-off events and workshops of any kind. If your classes are not really kids' classes, it is a reasonable choice.
Is there a Bookwhen alternative without booking caps?
Yes. We charge a flat £29 or £59 a month with no cap on bookings, so a sold-out term or a new class never moves your bill. Bookwhen's paid tiers each carry a monthly booking cap, from 300 to 4,000, which is usually why growing clubs look around.
